I drove up to Flagstaff Thursday night, about 1/3 of the way and then the rest of the way Friday.
Stayed in N's new home, an older rural home that's pretty much grown up over the last (who knows how long). It's got a lot of character, it's got a huge yard, it's got four roofs! Over the years as the place was expanded, instead of tearing off the old roof they added a whole new root over top of both the old structure and the new. if you could count roofs like tree rings, with 20 years being the lifetime of a decent roof, that would make the place around 80 years old? Sounds reasonable to me.
I also met a new friend while there (see my icon). It's a New Mexico Spadefoot Toad, the state amphibian of New Mexico. I turned him (her?) loose in the back yard after rescuing it from an inquisitive beagle that had found it in the bathroom.
The drive home Monday was a little more intense. I did the whole trip with just a short stop in Flagstaff to drop off dogs and special traveling person.
My schedule is a little off. I over slept on Monday, not really late for work but too late to do a morning workout. Today, I felt that the work out was too close so I put it off until tonight. Look for my numbers on another rock :)
