So the local supermarkets carry some interesting spirits. I've seen a couple of private labels in bourbon and single malt scotch, but also a few things I couldn't find back in Ol' V'ginny. (Frana-stana-fricking state run liquor stores!)

Namely Woodford Reserve

A fine Kentucky Bourbon, delicate nose, sweet almost minty after taste. (suddenly I'm thinking mint julips?)

At 90.5 proof it has a reasonable kick to it.

But alas, it's not my dram.

I'll keep it on hand for special guests. If I should end up traveling to Scotland, I know I can bring a bottle with me for those of you in the UK that like it so, but I'll stick with my single malt over this. Maybe we can work out a swap?

Sure. I'll do you a swap, if you like. I'm not a big bourbon drinker but I like Woodford Reserve.

If you do make it to Glasgow and can bring a bottle over, let me know what you'd like in return. Finding single malts in Scotland is NOT going to be a huge headache! ;-)

Ah yes, Woodford Reserve. A personal favorite of many, indeed. I still prefer my Wathens, but WR is a close second. When not drinking single malts, natch. ;-)

Thanks again for introducing me to Woodford Reserve at Noreascon. If I recall correctly, the gang cleaned out the hotel of their supply, didn't we?
