Hypocrisy: Your Federal Government in action

First thanks to kalligraphy and suricattus for information on this, I hope it upsets you as much as it does me.

This is H.R.552 "To implement equal protection under the 14th article of amendment to the Constitution for the right to life of each born and preborn human person."

and the 14th amendment can be found here as well as a lot of other places on the web and in hard copy.

Like many amendments, the 14th is made up of several parts. The pertinent part for this discussion being: Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. (and Section 5 which says "The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article." but let's stick with Section 1 for now.

The section starts by saying "All persons born or naturalized", since preborn isn't mentioned, they should no more be able to include it without a general amendment then you could give blacks, women or 18 year olds rights not held prior to 15th, 19th and 26th amendments.

But let's examine the hypocrisy of the stance a moment.

"No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; ..."

Funny, I don't see in that statement anything that excludes homosexuals. Now I'm a little late to the whole "Defense of Marriage Act" debate, which the forces of reason lost and that odorous lump of feces was signed by President Clinton, but I am paying a little more attention to the rantings of our Commander in Thief, Smirking Chimp that he is, as he tries to pacify his zealous followers by pushing a new Constitutional Amendment to single out a minority for a federal hate crime.

Start writing letters folks, let NOW, the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, and of course your congress critters know that this is just wrong.

There are some really smart people in the US Congress, unfortunately there's also a lot of total Asshats.

Don't get out your guns, get out your checkbooks and fire up your search engines, if enough of these bums aren't in office in two years, then maybe we can get some sanity back in the country!
