Nov. 30th, 2007 @ 04:56 pm WARNING: Water on Road ahead next 5 miles
Current Location: Carefree Crossing, AZ
Current Mood: happyhappy
Yup, actual road sign today.

Only in the desert!

It's supposed to rain through to tomorrow, and from the sounds of it, we're getting hit hard. The local weather station says .61 inches per hour (looks like it just peaked though).

I think it's a good night to curl up with a warm cat and some eggnog and listen to the rain.

When I first read .61 inches, I thought, only in the dessert would they consider .61 inches a lot of rain. Then I saw the per hour part. That's a lot of water over a period of time. BTW, the hardest rain I ever saw was 3 inches of rain per hour for 4 hours. It's amazing how 12 inches of rain translates to 20 inches in the street.

Oh and remember:

Oo. Lots of rain in the desert? OK, it's time to water the cacti. (Someone once told me that if I ever wondered how often I should water them, I should just check weather reports for desert areas!)
