If you're a US citizen, you should sign this petition:

Fire Tom Delay

Among his offenses, Tom DeLay:

* Accepted trips from corporations and later helped kill legislation they opposed
* Accepted trips from the lobbyist for a foreign government in violation of House rules
* Paid family members more than $500,000 out of campaign contributions
* Helped sweatshops in the Mariana Islands at the behest of a lobbyist.
* Promised a role in drafting legislation to a corporate donor
* Tried to coerce a Congressman for a vote on Medicare
* Allegedly used corporate money given to his PAC to finance Texas campaigns in violation of state law
* Used Homeland Security resources in a dispute with Democrats in Texas
* Diverted funds from a children's charity for lavish celebrations at the Republican convention
* Threatened retaliation against interest groups that don't support Republicans
* Stacked the House Ethics Committee with representatives who have contributed to his legal defense fund
* Crippled the effectiveness of the House Ethics Committee by purging members who had rebuked him
* Pushed for a rules change for the House Ethics process that paralyzed the panel
* Sought a rule change that would have no longer "required leaders to step aside temporarily if indicted"

Yeah I stole that right from the moveon site, but really just how corrupt do you have to appear to get investigated? and since most of this is public record, how corrupt do you have to Be to get kicked out?

It's time to take the gloves off people, the Radical Right running this country isn't about morals or values, it's about greed and profit.

Get involved, get dirty and let's get those bums out of office.

(For all my friends that aren't US citizens, you're still welcome to chime in.)

(edit: I meant get those bums out of office, there's definately more then one.)

I hate to think about how easy it was to set up a trial and stuff for Clinton's "transgressions" compared to this. I have wondered since day one of this administration why "we the people" acted so quickly on Clinton and have just sat there ignoring these guys. It's why I'm heading to Canada, where I will feel safer (I'm not saying Canada is perfect; I'll just feel a lot safer up there). Honestly, I can't look at my neighbors without asking "Why? Why are you letting this happen to us? Why won't you also say something about it? Why is it just me?" So do something about this -- everyone.

Actually the answers to this all these type questions is quite simple.

In the case of Bill Clinton, a wealthy conservative recluse named Scaite payed millions of dollars into something called the Arkansas Project. It was, to put it simply, a witch hunt paid for by a special interest group in order to discredit Bill Clinton. This man then bought and paid for George W. Bush.

The Congress that helped perpetrate the witch hunt had a Republican majority, that same Republican Majority is even now turning a blind eye to their own criminal activity. And frankly the actions being taken by the Republicans is far worse than getting a blow job.

They are being aided and abetted by a major media that is controled by a small handful of very powerful, very rich men. These men control what we see, what we hear and what we know. Deregulation by the FCC has permitted monopolization of the public airwaves. No longer does our media act as a watchdog of our government, instead our media is nothing more than a propaganda machine for the radical right. Further deregulation has removed the requirement that our media present opposing points of view, this is why there has been a rise in right wing political pundits like Rush, Anne and Sean. These pundits use spin and lies to discredit any opposition as "liberal media". As a perfect example, Rupert Murdoc owns the NY Times, two NYC TV stations, Fox News and the Direct TV Network. This is only a small piece of what he owns and he is one of the largest contributors to the Republican Party. In terms of radio stations, Clear Channel owns some 1100 radios across the United States, in some areas Clear Channel is the ONLY voice on the radio. The last bastion of major independence in the media is PBS, but the head of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting that funds PBS with OUR tax dollars has politicized funding in order to gag our last major voice.

Last remaining forms of free speach and reporting are some newspapers like the Baltimore Sun. In retribution for their actions, the Govenor of Maryland has barred their reporters from press conferences, interviews and other sources of information. They sued claiming that it was unconstitutional. A Federal Court ruled against them, thereby authorizing a political entity to punish the media if they don't like what is being said and allowing them to use it as coercion. The White House has reportedly been using this same tactic since Bush took office. Blogs are about all that is left but it is hard to get a good message over all the shouting and the right wing paid blogs designed to spread lies and spin. If you are lucky you have access to FSTV (Free Speach Television). It is a cable/satellite channel that presents a liberal viewpoint.

Lastly the Republican Party itself is being controled by a small handful of highly placed politicians with strong controls over the membership. Congress no longer has a free voice, any representative that doesn't toe the party line gets punished by a oligarchy of highly placed politicians like Tom Delay, Bill Frist and Dick Cheney. If they can't control them through threats, intimidation and graft, they sick Carl Rove and his dirty tricks on them. The extremists are in control and the moderates are running scared.

Welcome to the Fascist States of Amerika.
